Year 7 Tutor Team
Miss Graves Head of Year
I joined Gloucester Academy in 2017 as teacher of catering. Food has always been my passion and I love watching students' creativity through the practical aspect of the subject.
My career has taken me down the pastoral route and I take a great sense of pride in my year group. It is wonderful to see students develop personally and academically during their time with us and to see them go on to progress further through the school.
On a personal note, I love to spend time with my family. I have a large family with six nephews so there is never a dull moment, but I wouldn't have it any other way. In my free time I enjoy running, dog walking and spending time with friends and family.
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Gloucester Academy family as the Class of 2025 and look forward to meeting you all very soon.
Mrs Bolton Year 7 Tutor
As you start this new and exciting journey, not only will I be a Year 7 tutor, but I am also Head of Humanities (History, Geography and RE). Therefore, you will see me in your lessons lots and you can come to me for any help you need in those subjects as well.
All the students here are great and friendly; any one will help you if you need it. The staff at Gloucester Academy are the best and are always cheery and smiling.
There will be many opportunities for you to get involved in school life; I am particularly looking forward to choir and the Friday Fun challenges! You will find a vast number of extra-curricular groups to get involved in including sports, music and of course, the school show.
I am looking forward to meeting you all soon and to be part of this thrilling adventure that will be your secondary school career.
Miss Fudge Year 7 Tutor
When you start your exciting new journey with us in September, this will mark the start of my second year working as a geography teacher at Gloucester Academy. I really enjoy working here as it reminds me a lot of the secondary school I went to in Bristol (which is where I was born and grew up). It has the same welcoming feeling and local community spirit which is great to be a part of.
Outside of school, my main interests involve anything that means being outdoors - especially travelling to new places. Some of the most exciting places I have visited are India and Iceland; you may get to see some souvenirs and photos in my geography lessons! I look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to Gloucester Academy in September.
Miss Barrett Year 7 Tutor
I am excited to be a Year 7 tutor for the new academic year. I have been at Gloucester Academy for one year and I teach PE and Science.
Being a PE teacher, my main hobbies involve sports. I love to set sporting challenges for my tutor group and they tend to always be better than me!
As I have only been at Gloucester Academy for a year, I can remember how daunting it can feel to start in a new place. I am one hundred percent positive you will love it here as there is so much for you to get involved with and exciting lessons to make sure you achieve the best you can over the next five years.
Mrs Stephens Year 7 Tutor
I am a science teacher at Gloucester Academy and will be a year 7 tutor, which I am really looking forward to. I am very interested in the environment and the planet we live on, so I am looking forward to sharing that passion with you. I love being outdoors, running, hill climbing and dog walking, but most of all I enjoy doing things with my family.
Gloucester Academy is a fantastic place to work, learn and have fun. I am sure you will enjoy participating in lots of subjects and activities that you have not had the chance to try before. I am looking forward to meeting you all in September.
Mr Onakoya Year 7 Tutor
I am a member of the maths curriculum team and I have a strong passion for teaching maths because of the beauty hidden in numbers.
I have two boys of my own who I enjoy spending time with and I love reading, and football is my biggest passion. I love watching and playing this game; I am an avid supporter of the best football club in the world (but you will need to wait until September to find out which team I support!)
As a member of staff who has spent more than a decade working at Gloucester Academy, I would like to welcome you to our school.
It is a place full of dedicated and experienced members of staff, and more importantly, you will be surrounded by teachers who are committed to your learning and progress. So roll up your sleeves and prepare for hard work and lots of fun!
