Adapting Our School to Meet the Community’s Needs

For a school to thrive, it must be a central part of a collaborative community that works together for the betterment of the people in it. Gloucester Academy is the perfect example of a school that is an integral part of its local community.

One of my key aims as the principal of Gloucester Academy is developing an even stronger bond with our community. I’m ambitious in my goal to ensure Gloucester Academy is a secondary school that facilitates outstanding education for the young people in our area, further establishing it as a school that our community can support, rally around, and be proud of.

I understand that it is crucial for Gloucester Academy to meet the needs of the community it serves. The only way to achieve this is by working in close partnership with our community and the people within it. Through this partnership, we will identify what the community wants and requires from our school. Then, my colleagues and I will derive a strategy for delivering on these expectations and requirements.

Two-way communication is essential to forming a mutual understanding. As such, I would like parents and our community to know that we welcome their perspective and opinions. We want to know what our school community feels is important and work together to continue making improvements at Gloucester Academy.
