Clear communication is central to the success of any organisation, and it is no different when it comes to schools. Without clear, concise, and effective communication, it would be difficult for us to move forward, together, as a community. That is why I have placed improved communication as a huge priority for our school.
In general, communication can be split into two sections — internal and external. Internal communication is crucial in schools. It ensures that the staff, senior leadership team, and governors are all on the same page and working toward the same goal. External communication is essential in uniting a school community. While I will also be placing emphasis on internal communication within GA, it is more relevant to discuss external communication in this blog.
I feel there is a real need to establish an ongoing dialogue within our school community by communicating more regularly and more effectively. These communications will share updates on progress, invite your thoughts and feedback, and, crucially, let you know when we are facing challenges that require your support and involvement to be overcome.
With this in mind, it is my intention to ensure that Gloucester Academy communicates openly and transparently with every member of the community. I hope that communicating a shared, honest understanding of the school’s plans and progress will keep us pulling in the same direction and help us to achieve our goals as a community.
My blogs have been the start of our increased focus on external communication with the Gloucester Academy community, and I will continue to reach out with regular updates to keep you informed.
